The struggle is real, y’all!
To join or not to join….that is the question. Trust me, it is NOT worth bashing your head into the wall to determine the answer (it is not worth the concussion).
Ok, we will do an exercise. Are y’all ready???
Ok. Imagine that you had a crystal ball and asked to see yourself one year into the future.
You see yourself home with your sweet kiddos, playing hide and seek with sweet laughter just bouncing off the walls.
You say “ready or not, here I come!” and hear that little giggle coming from behind the curtain. You can tell that he is hidden there, but why ruin the fun, right? “Hm…where could he be?? I have never met such a good hider!”
You yell and the giggles just increase. Just as he thinks you are walking away, you pull back that curtain and yell “found you!” Your son jumps in your arms and says “again mommy! let’s play again!”
Now, you look back at your current life.
You are working 9-5 Monday through Friday. You barely have time to cook dinner let alone play hide and seek!
You hate that you have set hours, that you miss so much time with you kiddos and that you have a boss that decides when you can take off, when you must be at work and what work you must accomplish.
I mean, seriously, if you could change YOUR life and make it exactly how you want it to be, would you? Well see my darling, that is the million dollar question!
I was in that exact spot. I was working as a nurse (full time and overtime hours). In the hospital nursing world, we get to work 12 hour shifts, HOWEVER, don’t let that fool you.
Usually it’s more like 13 and 14 hour shifts. On a typical day at work, you run around like a headless chicken. You want to take great care of your patients, but there is just not enough time in the day, so you cut things out-like your lunch break and bathroom breaks.
I am not saying that nursing is the hardest job out there, but it is by far not the easiest. I missed my kiddos when I was at work and when I did have a day off, I was so exhausted from the day before that I just didn’t have the energy to play like I wish I could.
Something HAD to change!
You know what kept popping into my head? When my kids are grown, what will they remember from their childhood?
A stressed out mother who worked all the time and was too tired and cranky to play with them? Another thought kept intruding my mind as well.
When I am on my death bed and I look back on my life, what will I regret? Exactly, working too much and not spending enough time with my babies.
I knew I had to do something. I sat there and let myself dream big.
What did I want? I made a list! I wanted the ability to make a huge amount of money while working from home, being able to pick when I wanted to work so that I could play with my kiddos when I wanted to and I didn’t want to pay a lot to get started.
THERE! My list. Seemed quite crazy and impossible at the time, honestly. But I was desperate. I would do everything to get the life I wanted.
Well, here I am. I’m doing it! I jumped in and man am I glad I did. I have a team who supports me and educates me.
They made sure I would not fail. The key is to be coachable. Listen to the teachings and never, ever give up. This business changed me. It changed my life. It gave me freedom. It gave me hope.
The best part? My sweet kiddos that I get to play with EVERYDAY. I would not change that for the world.
